Wildside Hunting Safaris is owned and operated by Gerald and Brenda Fluerty.
Gerald, a fifth generation professional hunter with over 35 years of hunting experience, has personally guided hundreds of clients on successful hunts over the years. Gerald, Brenda and Wildside’s team of professional hunters are passionate about their clients success and enjoyment and appreciate the dedication it takes for hunters and their families to travel to and to hunt in New Zealand. Wildside Hunting Safaris confirms their total commitment to the needs of their clients and will go above and beyond to ensure their goals and ambitions are exceeded.
FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Welcome also are the non-hunting members of the family or group, who are welcome to accompony the hunters where possible, explore the many opportunities for photography, trout fishing and hiking or travel to some of the nearby activities like jet boating, horse riding, kayaking, alpine hiking, sightseeing or cultural and historical tours, winery tours and of course there’s plenty of shopping for genuine New Zealand made gifts to take home.
ACCOMMODATION
After a hard days hunting and exploring, guests can relax in the comfortable family atmosphere of the lodge and enjoy the wholesome home cooked kiwi cuisine along with some of New Zealand’s famous beverages.
The Wildside’s North Island accommodations are the Lahar Lodge, a cosy authentic log cabin or their larger Ruapehu Hunting Lodge with it’s warm rustic charm, perfect for bigger groups.
In the South Island Wildside stays in a number of well appointed homesteads, lodges and cabins like the rugged West Coast’s “Rainforest".
WILDSIDE HUNTING SAFARIS’ LOCATION
From their base on the southern slopes of the North Island’s highest mountain, the magnificent Mount Ruapehu and adjoining the Tongariro National Park, Wildside Hunting Safaris conducts trophy hunting safaris on both the North and South Island for red stag, tahr, chamois, fallow, sika, elk, sambar and rusa along with wild rams, goats and turkey.

A short walking distance from Wildside’s Ruapehu Hunting Lodge is the start of Wildside’s North Island exclusive private land hunting concession, where huge red, sika and fallow stags roam in their natural herds and habitat. A habitat perfectly suited for the thrilling "spot and stalk" hunting for which Wildside Hunting Safaris is world renown. Also for the angler are the nearby Tongariro and Wanganui rivers and Lake Taupo boasting their world famous fishing for rainbow and brown trout.
